Working Principle of post tensioning wedge

By utilizing the taper of the anchor ring and the prestressed anchor plate, a significant clamping force is generated on the steel strand, creating a strong gripping force. The clamping-type anchor system generally utilizes the frictional resistance between the prestressed anchor plate and the steel strand to secure the steel strand. The porous prestressed anchor plate system, also known as a cluster anchor system, consists of porous prestressed anchor plates, anchor bearing plates (also known as cast iron bellows, anchor seats), helical bars, or steel mesh sheets. This type of anchor is implemented on a multi-porous anchor plate, with each conical hole holding a pair of prestressed anchor plates to clamp a steel strand. Its advantage lies in the fact that the failure of any single steel strand anchorage does not lead to the overall failure of the anchoring system. The number of roots in each bundle of steel strands is not restricted.

Production Process

The wedge production includes 8 parts, which are:

● Cutting-raw material 20CrMnTi Bars are cut into small pillars as required.

● Forging-After cutting, it will be punched central holes by CNC forging machine.

● Engraving-After forging, it will be cut to required size and angle by CNC engraving machines.

● Tapping-after engraving, it will be tapped to certain thread shape and size as required.

● Splitting-After tapping, it will be cut into 3 or 2 pcs as required.

● Heat Treatment-After splitting, it will be heat treatment at 890℃.

● Assembling-After treatment, it will be inspected and assembled by auto machine.

● Packing-Finally, it will be packed into box or bucket as per requirements.

Heat Treatment System

 

Customized Post Tensioning Wedge

 

Heat treatment includes:

1. Annealing: The workpiece is heated to an appropriate temperature, different holding times are adopted according to the material and workpiece size, and then slowly cooled, in order to make the internal structure of the metal reach or close to equilibrium, obtain good process performance and use performance, or prepare the organization for further quenching.

2. Normalized: The purpose of normalizing is to eliminate the segregation phenomenon caused by process or other problems in the rolling process of steel plate; Attack removes internal stress from the material; Reduce the hardness of the material.

3. Quenching: A metal heat treatment process in which the metal workpiece is heated to an appropriate temperature and held for a period of time, and then immersed in a quenched medium for rapid cooling.

4. Tempering: A metal heat treatment process in which the quenched workpiece is reheated to an appropriate temperature below the lower critical temperature Ac1 (the starting temperature of pearlite to austenite transition when heating), and cooled in air or water, oil and other media after a period of heat retention.

With heat treatment process, the product surface can reach required hardness. To ensure that, RuiYi use Euro vacuum oven and carburization at 890℃ for 7 hours and this process is totally controlled by ourselves. So it give us the advantage that the quality control system is a whole closed circle. And we could control the quality and cost better. The size of oven mouth is 150×90×120cm, which can treat 100,000 sets of wedge per day to fulfill the demand of our customers.
